Brave Little Toasters - Meagan Hale
I am a hybrid. Ingeniously formed from two of my famous ancestors. I am the future and I am innovative. I live in a master suite next to my brothers and sisters. I am slave only to the giant who slides out my home and retrieves me when I am called to service. Only the giant is worthy of my talents. I am paraded around the cooking room like a trophy. The giant carries me to the large cooling chamber in search for something to devour. They remove some sort of containment chamber housing a strange source of nutrient for my master, I cannot wait to slay this foe for my master. The giant opens the compartment and reveals my new enemy it is yellow and seems to be chewy in nature and surrounded by the same shade of yellow cream. What is this? I think the giant calls it mac and cheese but such foolish words mean nothing to me. From the look of this enemy I must use my sharp spears rather than my dull side. No matter, I will serve my master as I always have and as those who came before me. The giant sets me down as they put the sustenance in the hot spinning torture machine. I watch it turn round and round burning in the box until I hear the glorious chime of battle. When the chime sounds and the yellow enemy is good and tortured, my master retrieves it from the box. My time has come. This is what I was made for. The giant picks me up and I begin to stab the Mac, killing it and handing it over to my master. When the battle is finished I am taken to the soap machine where it rains and the blood from my enemy is rinsed from my metalloid figure. I am returned to my home. I am victorious. I am Spork.
