Brave Little Toasters- Joshua Strange

Hello, my name is Mesa, I'm a table.  Each day, I put up with the craziest stuff, even if it is just an average day for the family.  I start my day early, probably around six, right when that bright thing just won't stop bugging me.  Then, Josh comes down and eats his cereal. The milk is freezing, I can't stand being cold.  So my days always start off horrible, especially in the winter.  Then the rest of the family does comes down and eats cereal, and by that time, my body temperature is just way off everywhere.  Then, they all just leave me, for 8 hours! By myself! I can't believe that, ignoring me those jerks! But of course when they get back all they want to do is slam heavy books on me and start scribbling everywhere. But that's not all, they want to put all of their feet all up on my legs! I mean who even does that! It's like I'm just a footrest to them! The night is usually fine when they eat dinner because all of the food is warm and that is always comforting.
Things weren't always this crazy at the Strange home.  Once they were worse, about ten years ago when they were little.  I only know this because of Trish.  I saw them move her in a while back and she looked horrible.  You would've thought she was a pallet by the way she was "decorated".  I think a bunch of toddlers tried to give her washable tattoos but messed up along the way and managed to give her permanent etch-a-sketches.  Poor girl she's lucky to not be sent to the wood chipper.  I guess in some perspectives I'm blessed to be upstairs and used daily, and not sent down to the basement with the rest of the unused toys.
