What is it Good For?- Isabelle Rinker

Each person has the right to live. Based on this principle, groups of people, i.e. nations, have a right to live, and a right to defend themselves when attacked. In this sense, it is morally just for a nation to go to war, such as the United States when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. However, it is never justified to use force to take from another or another country, nor is it ever justified to attack someone because you disagree with one's culture or beliefs, such as Hilter's invasion of France and Sadam Hussien's attack on Kuwait.

Many disagreements between countries can be settled between diplomacy or a third-party such as the United Nations. This can often serve as an alternative to war and in most cases, is more effective.
