Create Your Own Adventure - Amelia Caldwell

1. Why are the arts important?
2. Are Academy classes really more challenging than non Academy classes?
3. If you could meet and talk to anyone from any time period who would it be and why?

The arts are a very important aspect of life. Without the arts there would be no music, there would be no books, there would be no painting hanging on the walls of peoples' houses, there would be no sense of creative movement. The arts allow people to truly express themselves in their own way. The arts help children develop a sense of creativity and passion. Without the arts nobody would know how to express themselves. The word earth even has "art" in it, and without art the word is just eh.

People often take the arts for granted, saying that they are not as important as the core subjects. However, from personal experience, I would say the arts are just as important. Granted, dance, for example, will not teach me derivatives. Dance does, however, teach people the importance of time management. When you have to be at the studio for 6 hours on a Saturday, you know what you have to do Friday night so the rest of the weekend can be less chaotic.

The arts are very important to society. They give people a way to express their inner thoughts, they give people entertainment, and they teach important life skills that are not taught in a classroom at school.
