2. If you could have lunch with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
3. What is a challenge that you have overcome?
I will do number 2.
If I could have lunch with anyone, I would have lunch with all of the Founding Fathers because I am very curious to see how they expected America to turn out. There's no way they could have foreseen the complexity of issues we deal with today, but maybe they did have something in mind. I would ask them about the following:
1. Where they see America in 200 years. It would be very interesting to hear their responses.
2. I would describe the party system, with it's catering to specific subgroups and it's primaries and the deadlock it has created. I'm sure they would be furious. I would then ask them for suggestions on possible alternatives. They were some of the brightest minds in history, and they might be able to help, especially being distanced from the problem.
3. What their favorite book is and why they like it.
4. I would give them one of those political spectrum quizzes, just to see where they would fall. I would then give them a personality quiz to see if they were more open minded or close minded. What is conservative today was radical back then, and it would be interesting to compare their results.
