This is my perfect playlist for getting artistic inspiration. In other words, these are songs I always go to when I need creative inspiration for my own writing, art, music, etc.
1) Warpaint- Warpaint
This song is a great introduction to the playlist. The reason it's on the playlist anyways is because it's a song that always gives me ideas to write about. This song sounds like multiple songs blended together, which makes it interesting to listen to. I get a different meaning out of it every time I listen to it.
2) Prayers for Rain- The Cure
This song creates a very unique mood. Not only is it a great song for artistic inspiration, it is great to listen to while creating art.
3) Girl Anachronism- The Dresden Dolls
If I could write or create a piece of art based on just one song, it would undeniably be this song. This song is brilliant from start to finish and the lyrics are always impactful.
4) Persephone- Cocteau Twins
This song has a dreamlike and abstract quality. The great thing about this song is that it can be interpreted so many different ways. It doesn't tell any story, but instead creates a certain mood or emotion. (If it does tell a story, it would be impossible to know what story that is because the lyrics are basically incomprehensible.)
5) Sights- London Grammar
This song is a great conclusion to the playlist as it is a bit calmer than the previous three songs. It has the perfect combination of melancholy and optimism, which connects to the all the other songs but still ends the playlist on a positive note.
