Howdy blog- Brandon Castillo

I am 16 years old Junior in the Liberal Arts Academy at Henry Clay High School. I run cross country and the long-distance events of track. I go to Crossroads Christian Church and am in the Henry Clay Missional Community that meets on Thursday nights during the school year.

The thing that geeks me is sports. I love almost any sport- except baseball- and play many sports for fun with friends all the time.
I wish to run a 17:00 5k in cross county and break the school record of 4:36 in the one mile during the track season. I also hope to do well in school and on the important tests of junior year.

My favorite part of my summer was winning my first road race on June 29th in a Tiki 5k and going to camp with my church in North Carolina. Both of these are memories that I will remember for a long time and impacted me greatly; I gained confidence in my running ability and gained wisdom in my faith in these respective events.

This is a picture of some members of my "santapede (all of us ran together connected by ropes)" in the Reindeer Ramble 5k this past year.
