My thanksgiving is typical. We eat turkey, eat stuffing, and someone in my family usually has a dish that they present as their specialty. This year my brother came into town from college and helped make the Thanksgiving meal. I thought this was significant because Ryan was doing as much cooking as my mom was. I realize now that the college years he is going through carry much more weight than the high school years I am going through right now.
I enjoy thanksgiving. It's one of the two main feasts I look forward to; the other one being Passover. My grandma on my dad's side makes a really good Jell-O dish that I only know as "pink salad". My dad usually throws football with Ryan and me. It's been a while since I have had to say what I am thankful for at the table on Thanksgiving, but I never really liked doing that. It can become a contest between the kids over who can say the sweetest or funniest thing. It's much less tedious than reading and reciting all the Passover prayers though.
